Taking Time for Yourself

It is certainly difficult to spend quality time with yourself in everyday’s hustle and bustle. But I guess trying to fit a little of self-time won’t cause any harm.

Here’s a list of a few things you can always attempt in pursuit of self-time.

• Take deep breath and think peaceful thoughts.

• Remember the last time you had a good laugh and it will bring a smile to your face.

• Visualize yourself in a peaceful place.

• Cuddle and pet a puppy/kitten. Not only will they love it but you can forget about everything for a bit.

• Reflect on all the things for which you are grateful.

• Listen to a song or relaxation tape that uplifts you.

• Express your thoughts and feelings in a journal.

• Ask yourself what you really feel like doing right now, and then do it.

• Go for a walk in the park or by the ocean.

• Take a nap.

• Go to a bookstore (by yourself so that you can browse to your heart’s content) and check out new books, listen to music and maybe have a cup of coffee.

Honestly, sometimes the most appropriate thing to do, if you have 10 free minutes, is to water your plants.

So if not all, I hope, you at least endeavour a few of them.

Do leave a post to share your experience.

Love, N.
